However, the one thing that is for sure is that it is definitely beneficial for so much so that many celebrities and successful people have a daily practice. That must tell you that even if people that are so busy have time for it so do you.
So let's get into the benefits of meditation
- It Reduces Stress- The first point is that meditation helps you reduce stress. A study showed that 1,300 adults in an 8 week study that showed a major reduction in the stress hormone cortisol which inhibits the body healing mechanism, makes you depressed, impairs your health and causes a variety of other dysfunctions. Meditation is scientifically proven to reduce your stress levels by 31% and increase your vitality.
- Your Concentration Increases- When you meditation is a practice about focus at an essence many practices differ but all in essence use the breath as a focal point. This means that every time you do a meditation practice and a thought comes into your mind you bring it back on your breathe. Every time you catch yourself and bring your breathe back to your breathe you are working your focus muscle and the more you do it the more your focus will improve.
- It Improves Sleep- People who meditate sleep better the reason for this is that meditation helps you relax and not to overthink. This will help you clear your mind from all the thoughts that keep you awake at night leading you to a deeper and higher quality of sleep.
- More Stable Emotions- Meditation isn't about not thinking of anything in fact it's actually allowing your thoughts to come into your head. The point here is not to dwell or to allow a thought to overtake your emotion. When you meditate acknowledge your thoughts and let them go meditating is about being here in the now and not to be dwelling in the past or worrying about the future. This allows you to become a more proactive person versus reacting to your environment.
- You can do it anywhere- The coolest thing is about meditation is that whenever you need to reduce your stress or in need of controlling your emotions. You can do it anywhere, if you're in traffic you can get a minute or two of mindfulness in. If you're on a bus ride, in your desk, at the park, at a party, or before a speech you can always get a practice in.
Overall the benefits are bountiful and these are just a few to say the least the list goes on further and there is so much more to learn about the practice of meditation. One thing is for sure no matter what level of success in your life you are at you can always improve and take care of yourself so there is no reason why you shouldn't meditate.
