The Benefits of Waking Up at 4 A.M
Oh man, I know you're probably thinking to yourself I could NEVER get up at that time. Well guess what you are very capable of doing it. As someone who used to sleep anywhere from 10hrs to 12 hrs I can tell you that it's certainly possible to do it. It will definitely take you a 1-2 weeks to get used to it but then you will start catching on and it will just become your routine. Along with waking up early you get some benefits that come from not following the "typical" sleep routine.
- You're More Productive- Since you are waking up earlier than everyone else you're already working while some people are still snuggling and wasting time in dreamland. You however are already up and going ready to tackle the challenges that life will bring. Waking up at 4 also gives you more time to get extra activities in that otherwise you wouldn't have time for during a regular day schedule. It is also the prime time to get work in because everyone is asleep there is no one to bother you at that time of the day. Allowing you to focus on what you want to get done at that time.
- It Builds Discipline- Lets face it, waking up at 4 A.M isn't the most exciting thing ever and it's also not the easiest thing ever. Which is more reason to do it, doing things that you don't like to do builds discipline not only that it helps you get comfortable with the uncomfortable. This will also make you follow a consistent sleep schedule as you don't want to end up sleeping too late or your not gonna have the energy stay awake the next day.
- You Sleep Better- Building of the last point by the time you end up going to sleep you're going to feel tired. Most people wake up around 7-9AM this means that they have less hours during the day than you do. You will normally be awake about 17-18hrs a day that's alot of hours to be awake so naturally you will get to your bed tired.
- You Become More Confident- There is something about waking up at 4 that just bring more confidence. My guess would be that it comes from the fact that not many people are doing it. So that makes you one of the very few who is and doing the things that other people don't want to do sets you apart from pack.
- You Enjoy Life More- Once you're set into your routine it's pretty hard not to enjoy your new schedule. You get more done, you go to bed more accomplished and you get to see the sunrise every morning. Overall, since you are working more and challenging yourself the overall quality of your life will improve. It's simply quite amazing how such a small change can improve your life so much.
Lastly, I want to say that this is just my take on why waking up is good for you but to me it all comes down to efficiency. What is it that you're doing while your awake? That's what will really impact your life combine that with waking up early and you're setting yourself up to succeed.
