In this one, we’re going to be focusing more on the business side of things but this can literally apply to any situation that you are dealing with people. So the best way to interest a person is to literally talk about what they find interesting. If you don’t know what they like that’s when you have to put in so work in to figure out what they like. This shouldn’t be too hard as today we have social media and it’s more than likely that every person is in some way shape or form on the internet.
The ability to talk about what the other person is interested in can ease your job of making a deal with them. For instance if I didn’t know that you loved dogs and I start talking to you about chess you’re gonna find it boring, but if I really want to turn someone off just I’ll start talking about the things I like and that should do the job to kill your interest. The likelihood of someone getting the deal done using this approach is slim to none. Now if you really want to make an impact lookup what gets the other person excited. Knowing these facts you will be way more prepared going into a meeting and you will be able to dictate where the conversation goes. Well sort of because once you start talking about what the other person likes you’re not gonna be able to get them to stop talking about it. Which is a good thing. The other thing that this does for you it gives the other person a sense that you and them have something in common this will lead to a higher level of rapport. Knowing this which way do you think is easier to get a deal done with? It’s a no brainier the second way is a much more efficient and better way of doing it. Also I forgot to mention that most of the time the other person will give you what you want at the end without even having to ask for it that’s how powerful this strategy is.
Overall, it’s a great way to get the deal done you build a connection and you learn more about the other person it’s a win-win situation. Now if you’re not in business you can use this technique with your friends and family to get them excited or just to have a deeper conversation. It should be many times easier and a great way to practice as you already know what your close ones are interested in.
